FAQS

SECURITY:

There is a security team who will regularly monitor that the event location is safe and secure. A roster will be put in place for camp site security, including during the evenings.

What is the Adult to Youth/Child Ratio at Summer Revo Camp?

In accordance with Equippers Auckland Group Adult-to-Youth/Child Ratio policy the following ratio’s apply:

  • For youth 13-17 years (Year 9-13) the ratio is 1:10 (1 adult per 10 youth).

  • An adult is someone over the age of 18yrs and has been police vetted.

  • For 12 year old’s the ratio ranges from 1:10 to 1:3 depending on whether the activities are indoors or outdoors and also taking into consideration the risk of the activity.

  • In all circumstances when swimming, the ratio will reduce considerably. Swimming in Lake will only take place in swimming spots designated by the Local Council and are deemed safe. If swimming takes place at the pools, lifeguards will be supervising.

Transport

Transport is organised by local hubs and churches throughout the country. Please contact your local church for the transport plan.

COST

The cost is $210 per person which covers all meals and accomodation during camp.

  • Speak to your Hub/Youth Leader about any fundraising options that your youth can be involved in to help reduce this cost.

  • An extra cost (on top of $210) may be asked for to help out with transport. Where possible this may be fundraised. Speak to your leader if you have concerns about this.

First aid

There will be a team of current first aiders and a nurse available onsite every day, for the duration of the camp.

The first aid team will assist youth leaders and their youth with any medical concerns stated by the parents/caregivers if required.

By registering for this event you give permission for Equippers Church authorised staff and volunteers to obtain emergency medical, hospital or ambulance assistance at any time they consider necessary.

Leaders

Leaders will:

  • Have their full license and are responsible for transporting their youth to the local A&E if required.

  • Liaise with the First Aid team prior to departing the campsite who will help co-ordinate with contacting the parents/caregivers.

  • Have signed the Transporting of Youth Agreement to and from the campsite.

What happens if my child gets sick?

The youth will be required to contact their parent/caregiver who will make a decision as to what shall be done. The Youth Leader and/or First Aid team will be on hand to talk to the parent/caregiver also.

Depending on the situation the youth will be taken to A&E by their leader.

The parent/caregiver will be informed of all decisions made.

What happens if my child gets COVID-19?

As per this link covid19.govt.nz if a child tests positive for covid whilst at camp they will be isolated immediately and their parent/caregiver will be contacted.

If there is no available spaces for isolation the parent/caregiver will be asked to make arrangements for their child to be picked up from camp.

Swimming at the lake

A trip to the lake has been planned. This is optional. Leaders will remain at camp with those who do not wish to swim.

Youth will be swimming in the areas where there is supervision by lifeguards or competent swimmers including leaders with a current first aid certificate and over the age of 18.
